William’s background in business start-up, operations, and management enables him to provide legal services in an array of legal areas, concentrated in Bankruptcy, Debtor’s Rights, and civil litigation.

Prior to joining Rainey Legal Group, William was an associate attorney in the Intellectual Property practice group of  Armstrong Teasdale, a nearly 300 attorney firm with offices throughout the country.  During that time, William practiced exclusively in the area of patent prosecution in the electrical, computer science, and electro‑mechanical technology arts.  William has drafted numerous patent applications and has successfully prosecuted and obtained multiple patents for such clients as General Electric, Washington University, and BHA Group.   Other firm clients have included inventors from India, China, Scotland, England, and of course the United States.

While in law school, William worked for two years as a law clerk for a Las Vegas general practice attorney and gained experience in a multitude of practice areas, include civil litigation, family law, real estate, and self-insurance for worker’s compensation matters.  William also managed the day-to-day operations of the attorney’s tax audit defense practice.  Also, while in law school, William gained significant exposure to bankruptcy practice, while serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Linda B. Riegle of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Nevada.

Prior to becoming an attorney, William was a technology consultant in the emerging Internet industry, and held various technical management and executive positions with multiple technology start-ups in and around Houston, Texas during the nineties.  William uses his vast technology experience to improve the efficiency of his practice and client communication.

William remains an active participant in the UNLV/Boyd Alumni association, Clark County Bar Association New Lawyer’s Committee, and an annual speaker for the UNLV MBA New Ventures Management course speaking to the business aspects of intellectual property law.  William is also an active tribal member of the Eastern Shawnee of Oklahoma, serving on the Tribe’s Constitutional Review Committee.
